We have developed the apparatus for DNA Microarray(GENESHOT®) using the micro ceramics pump as the second practical version of micro ceramics, thus making high-speed/superior quality manufacturing of DNA Microarray possible.
The DNA Microarray (DNA microarray) is the DNA solution (whose array is known in advance) which has been fixed on a glass substrate in an extremely minute amount and uniform in quality. By dropping the sample containing the gene that needs to be examined on the DNA Microarray, the DNA sequence can be identified by hybridyzation.
DNA solution (more than several thousand kinds) is spotted evenly on the slide glass by pl-nl order. The non-contact spotting method makes the spot shape almost a perfect circle. As a result, the spot excels in signal uniformity. The high speed spotting performance enables mass production of more than several thousand per month. When compared to the conventional pin type, the micro pump type is able, in a stable manner, to spot the minute amount of the DNA solution's spot in a highly dense and uniform fashion. Therefore, manufacturing DNA Microarray that excel in reproducibility (among the Microarrays) has been made possible. By adopting the newly developed piezoelectric type micro ceramics pump, the delicate DNA can be spotted with ease without any damage.
