NGK Insulators, Ltd. (President: Masaharu Shibata, Head Office: Nagoya) completed reinforcement of its mass production line of ceramic products for semiconductor producing equipment by setting up more manufacturing machines and extending the facilities.
Since the ceramic products which are superior in heat resistance and corrosion resistance make semiconductors carry denser integrated circuits, the demand of ceramic products applied semiconductors has been increasing in the industry. NGK, to meet this demand, launched upon reinforcement of its mass production line of ceramic products in March, 1996 and started its full operation in the end of October, 1996.
NGK invested Y 1.5 billion on the new mass production line for suscepters, such as, electrostatic chucks, ceramic waher heaters, etc., and achieved a series of manufacturing which consists of forming, combusting, processing, connecting ceramics with metal parts, inspecting, etc. on one line.
NGK is planning to increase the production of various ceramic products, especially the products mainly made from Aluminum Nitride(AlN) , which was originally developed by NGK.
NGK pursues to exhibit its total ability in the ceramic products business and anticipates sale of more than Y 5 billion in 2000.
