NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (President: Masaharu Shibata, Head Office: Nagoya, Japan) has issued a pamphlet which introduces NGK's community relations activities.
NGK established the medium-term management plan EXCEL-01 in 1997, and stresses as one of its core policies - Good Corporate Citizenship. The importance of corporate social responsibility is increasing, therefore we decided to issue this pamphlet to promote understanding of our commitment to social action programs as a good corporate citizen.
This pamphlet shows activities into which NGK puts most effort, such as supporting international students, international exchanges, environmental conservation, and community relations.
NGK established the NGK Foundation for International Students to support students from abroad. The Foundation has been granting scholarships to 20 privately financed overseas students each year, and also built and manages the NGK International House which is a 40-room dormitory. In addition, the students residing in the House offer foreign language classes in the NGK International House for people in the community to deepen international exchange. NGK plans to collaborate with nonprofit organizations (NPOs) in order for all the domestic and overseas group companies to help better society.
