NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (President: Masaharu Shibata, Head Office: Nagoya) has successfully acquired ISO ("International Organization for Standardization") 9001 for the quality system of its industrial heating system and received the certificate on August 24, 1998 from JSA ("Japanese Standards Association"), an inspection body.
The registered scope of the certification includes design, development,installation and servicing of the following industrial heating system: Roller Hearth Kiln, Tunnel Kiln, Shuttle Kiln and Atmospheric Batch Kiln. The certificate has been granted to the Industrial Heating System Division of NGK and also NGK's affiliate, NGK Kilntech Co., Ltd.
This is based on the Ceramic Business Group's policy that every business division should endeavor to acquire ISO 9000 core series, and the acquisition at this time is the fourth in the group. All divisions in the Ceramic Business Group are aiming to get ISO certification within the year 1998.
