The three main domestic manufacturing bases of NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (President: Masaharu Shibata, Head Office: Nagoya) acquired ISO 14001, the international certification for environmental management, on March 30, 1998. The certificate was issued by JIC Quality Assurance Ltd.(JICQA), an inspection body.
It should be emphasized that the three manufacturing bases, AC plant in Nagoya, Chita plant and Komaki plant, simultaneously acquired ISO14001. The registered scope of the certification are all activities related to R&D and production of insulators, honeycomb ceramic substrates, special metals, environmental equipment, and translucent alumina ceramic components.
ISO 14001 requires a registered supplier to set up environmental policies. According to this, NGK launched the following;
In the future, both domestic and overseas affiliates of NGK will pursue ISO14001 certification.
