The Environmental Systems and Equipment Division of NGK INSULATORS, LTD. ("NGK" hereinafter, President: Masaharu Shibata, Head Office: Nagoya) acquired ISO 9001 certification for its quality management systems on December 12, 1997 from ISO (International Organization of Standards) and received a certificate on February 6, 1998 issued by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Ltd., an inspection body.
This certification approves the whole process of project management, development, design, engineering, procurement, and construction management of environmental systems and equipment, such as water and waste water treatment facilities including sewage sludge incineration equipment, waste treatment equipment, and noise control equipment.
NGK, including its domestic and international affiliates, has actively engaged in achieving ISO 9000 core series approval since certification of its insulators and hardware fittings in December 1993. The Environmental Systems and Equipment Division was the first division to be granted certification in NGK's Engineering Business Group and other divisions are now aiming to acquire certifications for their products.
