Release: February 19, 1998
The Industrial Apparatus Business Division of NGK INSULATORS, LTD. ("NGK" hereinafter, President: Masaharu Shibata, Head Office: Nagoya) acquired ISO 9001 certification for its quality management systems and received a certificate on January 29, 1998, from Japanese Standards Association, an inspection body.
This certification confirms that the quality management systems for some industrial apparatus, such as ceramic and resin lined pumps and valves, brick lining products, ceramic filters, and mist eliminators, conform to the quality system standards, ISO 9001. The quality management system is applicable to design and development, production, and sale of such products by NGK, and sale, installation and maintenance by NGK Chem-Tech, Ltd., an affiliate of NGK.
This acquisition of certification by the Industrial Apparatus Business Division, which belongs to the Ceramic Products Business Group, is based on the group's policy that every business division and affiliated company should create quality management systems which conform to ISO 9000 core series, international quality standards, and intentionally make every effort to acquire their certifications.
Since acquisition of ISO 9001 for its insulators and hardware fittings in December 1993, NGK and its domestic and international affiliates have actively engaged in acquiring ISO certifications. The Ceramic Business Group acquired ISO 9001 certification for its automotive ceramic components in January 1996 and now is aiming to acquire ISO certifications for its heating systems, HPC products, sensors, and architectural products within fiscal year 1998.
