The market of the processing apparatus for electro-ceramics in South East Asia is expected to grow in the future according to the overseas expansion of the Japanese electronic component manufacturers and their demands for domestic production and supply.
NGK has investigated to engage in the early domestic production, in order to establish an unshakable position as a domestic manufacturer and maintain the market share in South East Asia.
On the other hand, SRIC, which is the largest refractory manufacturer in Thailand, has pursued to extend their business into the field of processing apparatus for electro-ceramics because many electronic component companies have already existed in Thailand.
NGK and SRIC made an technical license agreement on the SiC processing apparatus in May 1995 and they have agreed to establish the new joint venture to meet the market demands for the processing apparatus for the electro-ceramics.
The new company, which will manufacture not only the processing apparatus but also the other ceramics, will take an important role as the production center in ASEAN and other Asian markets.
