A subsidiary of NGK Insulators, Ltd. (President: Masaharu Shibata, Head Office: Nagoya), NGK Adrec Co., Ltd.(President: Hiroshi Ogawa, Head Office: Nagoya) received ISO9001 Certification on 27th, August 1996, from Japanese Standards Association regarding production of refractories.
The Adrec's acquisition of ISO9001 is remarkable, because not only design and manufacturing process of refractories but also construction of industrial firnances is certified.
The ceramic products business group of NGK set out the policy that encouraged every section in the group and every subsidiary and affiliate to develop the products and systems which meet the requirements of ISO9000 core series and intentionally pursue to get the certifications. The Adrec's acquisition of ISO9001 reflects such policy.
NGK, in order to prove its high quality of products and systems, has aimed to obtain ISO Certifications. NGK has already received the ISO Certifications for its main products manufactured in the Nagoya, Chita and Komaki plants; which are ISO9001 for power insulators in December, 1993, ISO9002 for beryllium copper products in February 1994, ISO9002 for translucent aluminum in January 1995, and ISO9001 for automotive ceramics parts. NGK also pursued to obtain ISO Certifications worldwide. The metal business groups in the U.S. and France, and the production company of ceramic products in Belgium have also received ISO Certifications.
